If you are able to handle a little bit of cold,

but tolerable for most people who live where it

really snows hard, rishikesh is the one of the

best places in India to find authentic yoga teachings.

There are many ashrams in the swargashram area which

offers yoga, but if you want yoga + tantric/kundalini

teachings then http://www.bhairava.net is an

excellent school. Swargashram is on the ganga river

side and it's an excellent place to get yoga training

from authentic vedic teachers.

Yes, you're right Annie, google does give me some suggestions... maybe too many

of them. I'd really like to hear some personal opinions about both Goa and other

places from yogi's point of view. I guess I am biased about Goa, but do tell me

how it was. The pages of Purple Valley promise good things, but of course a

personal view is always more appreciated.

I'm also interested about Indonesia and Thailand. Australia is maybe too far...

In any case, I'm thankful of all kinds of suggestions combining ashtanga

practise with warm holidays.

Other places? How about Australia, Indonesia or Kerala - there are

pretty good yoga scenes in all of those, when the weather in Europe,

UK and US is fairly grim. A search with google should produce some

suggestions.
