I have been practicing on and off for two years now and have the same

problem. Being only 4'11'' the last thing I want is a bulky upper body with

a big butt! I have not been able to thin out my upper body and I appreciate

the strength I have, but do not like looking like a bull dog. I too, have

gone back to running and speed walking to shed the weight and have cut back

on the amount of practice I am doing each week. It seems to have helped

some. The Ashtanga yoga is wonderful for strength and peace of mind, but

not a way to keep your weight under control.
