"ask, and you shall receive...". Copied from posting in that other

board, 1 of 2:

Guruji in NYC!

------

Well, it's our turn at long last. Since I've been among the first to

ask people for nuggets and nibblets (hmmm must be lunchtime)

earlier in the Tour, figured I'd put my keybhoard where my mind's

been.

I checked out Sharath's demo, w/ PJ counting him through the

vinyasas, "most useful from first [series]" and snippets from 2nd

& 3rd at the Sheraton [Hotel]. It was part of the Omega

Conference, but those of us not blessed with the time and

money (and for many, inclination) to attend were able to sneak in

last night for a well-spent $45. Quite a few people from Patanjali

Yoga Shala, as well as conference attendees. Eddie was a most

gracious host, greeting folks at the door. The Imperial Ballroom

was packed, atmosphere and anticipation electric.

The whole family came; Sharath & PJ took the stage, and for over

an hour took us through asanas with the occasional

commentary by Guruji. He seemed a little nervous but quite

pleased to be there. Coolest thing was witnessing the

non-verbal communication & alchemy between the two men.

Wish I could share more, but I was so transfixed and busy taking

pics... One quotable (paraphrased, couldn't attempt to capture

guruji's inimitable way with [english] words): "these days, it is

99% theory, only 1% practice. This is not correct..." followed by

his affectionately received perennial aphorism.

Post-demo, the energy was pretty amazing. Short line to pay

respects to the family, interestingly. Nice to see Swenson &

Freeman there.

Interestingly, Life & Gannon showed up. I'll leave the comments

and speculation to others better equipped than I to make them.

Well, once the conference wraps Monday evening, we'll start the

sessions at the Puck building. More reports to come, if ya wanna

see them. Hope that others also share their impressions and

memories.
