Guest guest
often times i find this chat group to be filled with a lot of gossip and unpleasant, VERY unyogic comments about yogis and teachers that violate the first two limbs of ashtanga yoga. as a result, i would highly advise everyone who reads this, especially those who have not had the opportunity to practice with the top teachers of ashtanga in the US, to treat everything you hear on this board with a grain of salt. information is great, questions on postures, injuries, etc.. however, i have heard many things that are FAR from that truth advertised on this website as fact about teacher after teacher that are perpetrated by people more interested in the politics of yoga conferences and meaningless gossip than those who are truly interested in the eight limbs of ashtanga. before you believe anything here, make sure you ask yourself, does this statement violate the practice of ahimsa, non violence by being blatently verbally degrading, said by an untrustworthy yogi who could also be neglecting the practice of satya, or truth? or another question to ask yourself, could this simply be gossip? do not believe all that you hear, check out the information with many people in your own practice environment....and always remember that just because someone can practice third series does not mean that they are a yogi.... Guest guest
often times i find this chat group to be filled with a lot of self-righteousness and unpleasant, VERY sanctimonious comments about yogis and posters. I understand and respect your earnest intentions. I hope you're on your way to all eight limbs in your practice, both on and off the mat. For many of us, this forum has been a great resource, but also a great way to "keep things interesting", so to speak. So, yes, some posts may be a little juiced, maybe seem belligerent. Keeps things interesting. Also, Jois spends his twilight years transmitting the method, and some of us, for better or for worse, do spend time, on the bioards and off, defending assaults to what we perceive as the integrity of ashtanga vinyasa yoga as taught by Pattabhi Jois of Mysore. Do not aspire to judge folks, as I will not judge you (although I might make a comment or three). For real.
