The ongoing debate about men and women is quite a surprise. I

would assume yoga is like any other activity where a shared

interest might form the basis of companionship for the short or

long term.

To get together and meet after a class is normal. After most

leisure or sports activities the group would tend to meet.

If teachers feel that they might like to encourage socializing

they can arrange small satsangs etc.. where students could get

together.

Regards
