Guest guest
I am a self-taught, which I know is a "no-no" in some circles, but I am fully dedicated to learning the primary series in its traditional form... What resources can you recommend?... I particularly enjoyed the Ghita Ashtanga site, which is now unfortunately closed...
Guest guest
I bought the book "Ashtanga Yoga The Practice Manual" by David Swenson. It has the Primary Series and Intermediate Series. I think he is very good at explaining the diffrent asanas and it is sprial bound so you can use it as a reference during practice. ashtangayoga, "obrocta" <danobrocta@e...> wrote: > I am a self-taught, which I know is a "no-no" in some circles, but I > am fully dedicated to learning the primary series in its traditional > form... Guest guest
It is not a "no-no" for some obscure elitist reason; once you start on the seated poses, your entire neuromuscular system gets worked, and you really SHOULD have the guidance and support of a qualified teacher. Standing poses are useful and safe to attempt on your own. ashtangayoga, "obrocta" <danobrocta@e...> wrote: > I am a self-taught, which I know is a "no-no" in some circles, but I > am fully dedicated to learning the primary series in its traditional > form...
