Guest guest
During the period of Savasana, one should concentrate on the rythemic way of inhaleing and exhaleing, and imagine the path followed by the air we breath(from nostril to lung and vice versa) Michael Wood <michaelwood1980 wrote:hello everyone i was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion on the following. ive practised ashtanga for a few years now and, (with some modifications) quite happily practise the primary series once a day.i have the option to practice in the morning and in the evening - though at the moment i tend to pracitice in the evening. i was wondering wether what times are generally regarded best to practice (morning or evening) and whether practicing the primary sequence twice a day is considered excessive. thanks for you help mike ps after asanas and rest in savasana - what is it advisable to do in the followig hour? is there a particular form of meditation that follows asana? any advice would be great. _______________ STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail ashtanga yoga Catch all the cricket action. Guest guest
Hi Michael I started doing 2 practices per day, back to back. I was surprised that I was quite stiff when I started my second practice and am not sure that taking a rest in between is a good idea in that case. Otherwise it was fine, I enjoyed the nearly 3 hour practice. Perhaps it would be better to do the first and second series without interuption to have a longer session though. But, I urge you caution: I think that overdoing it was a contributing factor to me tearing some muscles in the front of my chest, an injury that has been with me for almost one month, and is really depressing me. I was trying to go into handstand from boat, which, it would appear, was too ambitious a move for me. I think if my body was better rested, I probably wouldn't have hurt myself though. When I recover, I think I'll try extending the practice by incorporating some second series moves, and build up slowly. Doing one longer practice, instead of 2. Namaste, Lawrence. --- Rajesh Kumar <rajeshpatna7 wrote: > > During the period of Savasana, one should > concentrate on the rythemic way of inhaleing and > exhaleing, and imagine the path followed by the air > we breath(from nostril to lung and vice versa) > > Michael Wood <michaelwood1980 > wrote:hello everyone > > i was wondering if anyone could give me their > opinion on the following. ive > practised ashtanga for a few years now and, (with > some modifications) quite > happily practise the primary series once a day.i > have the option to practice > in the morning and in the evening - though at the > moment i tend to pracitice > in the evening. i was wondering wether what times > are generally regarded > best to practice (morning or evening) and whether > practicing the primary > sequence twice a day is considered excessive. > > thanks for you help > > mike > > ps after asanas and rest in savasana - what is it > advisable to do in the > followig hour? is there a particular form of > meditation that follows asana? > any advice would be great. > > > > > > _______________ > STOP MORE SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months > FREE* > http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail > > > > > ashtanga yoga > > > > > Terms of Service. > > Catch all the cricket action.
