Guest guest
Human anatomy is human anatomy, though there may be many different ways to approach it. A medical student may have different interests than a yoga student. I think any serious yoga student or teacher should have a good atlas of human anatomy. I recommend Clemente or Netters. More info on such books here: http://www.ionet.net/~tslade/atlases.htm Oriented a bit more towards yoga, I would highly recommend Anatomy of Movement by Blandine Calais-Germain, and Anatomy of Hatha Yoga by H. David Coulter. Also, with or without any interest in Rolfing or being Rolfed, I recommend checking out Rolfing by Ida Rolf. More info on these books at Amazon.com. May be more ideas here: http://www.ionet.net/~tslade/yogabook.htm and here: http://www.ionet.net/~tslade/bodybook.htm Also depends what you mean by "yogic anatomy". Energy meridians, chakras, etc, is a whole nother thing. I don't claim to be expert on that, but a couple of excellent books that may have some useful and practical info might be: Yin Yoga by Paul Grilley and Moola Bandha - The Master Key. Qigong is interesting to explore...... ashtanga yoga, "yogabliss27 <yogabliss27>" <yogabliss27> wrote: > Could anyone out there tell me the differences (if any) between yogic > anatomy and anatomy/physiology taken in school - maybe recommend one > or two books on the subject? > > Thank you > bliss

From an esoteric one, there is quite a demarcation. Chakras, bandhas, nadis, et all are part of 'yoga anatomy'. Om Shanti ...
