Guest guest
Annie: 1) I love your yoga newsletter and hope to get to Goa soon. I've spent tons of time in Mysore and Pune, but haven't made my way to Goa yet -I hear it is beautiful. 2) For "short" hamstrings -Downdog -in a very warm room for at least five minutes. Do this everyday for a week and the hamstrings will start to "lengthen" Namaste, Maureen --- "Annie Gurton <annie" <annie wrote: > Scary! > I have just come off a 9-month plateau and am > finally making a few > improvements - for the past 9 months my practice was > stagnating or > going backwards. Guest guest
Hi Annie, Glucosamine Sulphate????? How can you recommend these pills that haven't passed any scientific studies - even on your own anecdotal evidence. Have you ever popped the bubbles in the plastic used as packing material? That is what this stuff does to your muscles at a cellelur level. Do you work fior a pharmaceutical company? Why does everyone want a magic pill? What about a yogic diet - you are what you eat - so what about fresh organic foods, close to the sun's energy? - Ahimsa includes not harming your own body...Yoga is not about abusing your body = not about how far you can stretch- not about how tight your hamstrings are.... (Or is it?) Shanti and prema "Annie Gurton <annie" <annie wrote:Scary! I have just come off a 9-month plateau and am finally making a few improvements - for the past 9 months my practice was stagnating or going backwards. I think it happens. The difficult thing is to persevere through it all. But your list of complaints sounds as though your body is really saying its had enough. Joints do wear out. Ligaments etc will only stretch so far. Can you do a practice within the new limits set by your body? If you listen to it, don't push it, be content with what you can do, surely that will give the hurting parts time to heal. As for joint problems, I really recommend Glucosamine Sulphate. I take about 1500 - 2000 mgs a day, and after about 2 months you really notice a difference. It helps rebuild the joint linings. Has anyone got any quick fixes for short hamstrings? Guest guest
Glucosamine sulfate has had many clinical studies done around it and it can in some cases rebuild joint and cartilage tissues if taken long enough and the damage isn't too severe. It is NOT a quick fix pill and is appropriate for cases joint and cartilage degeneration and osteoarthritis ( the wear and tear kind). As for it putting air bubbles into your joints and muscles, that is pure fiction. Wherever did you hear such a thing? As for my qualifications, I am a naturopathic physician who practices science based alternative medicine and have been practicing for 13 years. I am a graduate of Bastyr University in Seattle (www.bastyr.edu) and have been studying Ashtanga with Richard Freeman since 1994. ______________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
