ashtanga yoga help needed

Dear phil,

I am not going to offer much more specific advice because the emails I have read

regarding your situation have provided you with wonderful direction. I will

offer you this: many ashtanga yogis have similar situations because of the

repetative nature of this practice. Dave and Doug Swensen have shared with me

about shoulder problems and I believe Dave said something about a hip problem.

Everything everyone has said points to slowing down in the practice and being

new and aware through the flow. New and aware - ha! so easy to say. The Iyengar

practice does not have to be dry. Look around for some juicy, humor-filled,

well-trained teachers. Rodney Yee is my favorite. First and foremost you need to

address those injuries and it can be done through yoga but remember these bodies

will never be "perfect" and in that they are perfect. You can learn so much from

these misalignments about your internal workings mental, physical, spiritual

(breath). Enjoy your journey!
