Guest guest
can anyone give some advice on laguvajrasana, particularly in coming up from the pose?
Guest guest
Hi Everyone I think Lori has given you the detail. In general terms, you could start working backwards from camel using the strength of your thighs only. Dont go too far at first. Soon the strength builds, and you will be able to rest your head on floor. I suggest not going any lower than the point that you can recover from with your thigh strength. Guest guest
In Mysore you do not start second series unless you are coming up from Urdhva Danurasana. Sharath says that the reason is that once you come up from Urdhva Danurasana on your own you will be ready for Lagu and Kapotasana. My advice is go to someone that is doing or has done second series wit Guruji. If not be patient and work on Urdhva Danurasana as described in John Scott's book.( If there is no assistance then use the wall walking up and down the wall ) I have been using the wall for quite some time and now I am feeling that I almost droping back on my own. Guest guest
thanks very much to everyone who has given some fantastic advice. my puzzle however, is that i can drop back and come up from urdhva danurasana with proficiency - no turning out of the feet, open in the shoulders and engaging the legs to come up (and accordingly, no back pain!), so am quite puzzled that coming up from laghuvajrasana is so difficult. my head feeels embedded on the floor once i'm down, and my energy gets lost somewhere. i think what i will try though, is what you suggested - only go down as far as my thigh strength will bring me back up. i think perhaps i am trying to go into my lumbar spine to come up instead of engaging my thighs properly? namaste. ashtanga yoga, "topofthemountains <doyoga@a...>" <doyoga@a...> wrote: > In Mysore you do not start second series unless you are coming up > from Urdhva Danurasana.
