Sirsasana and nose bleed...

Hi

I´ve started doing Ashtanga recently, and have been slowly evolving

and enjoying my progress bit by bit.

I started doing sirsasana without letting the feet go off the

ground. However, today I managed to do it and stayed up for the full

25 breaths. That was probably about 1 and a half to two minutes

being inverted.

Then I finished off my practice as usual.

about 35 minutes of finishing my day´s practice, I noticed my left

nostril was bleeding (only one nostril). It didn´t drop or anything,

but a lot of blood came out using a tissue. A little after that I

felt weak and needed to lie down in my bed, but that only took 5

minutes. Now I´m fine! My eyes seemed fine throughout.

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

What could the possible causes of this be? Or is this normal to

happen, once in a while?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Om Shanti

Miguel

That doesn't seem normal to me. Standing on your head shouldn't

cause a nose bleed. I would blame it on a possible sinus infection

or something of that nature if you've recently have had a cold. Do

you usually get nose bleeds easily?

Hey Zeke!

Well, I believe I am not hypertense at all. Hypertense means high

blood pressure right?

I remember checking my blood pressure a few months ago, and it

might have been a little under average... anyway I´ll check tomorrow

first thing in the morning and then let you know the results...

Thanx
