I use to be involved in Martial Arts and did some light weight lifting. I am interested in getting back in shape and building my body gradually. The ideal is the body of a professional male 'ballet' dancer. Built, hard and lean and flexible. I am not interested in the lumpy 'body builder' look. I want the hard and fluid built of a dancer. I was told to try combing Yoga and weight lifting. Does any one have a specific yoga tradition and school in mind. I am told 'ashtanga' I am looking for an ashtanga yoga school located in New York. I would also appreciate a 'modern' teacher. I am interested in the physical aspect of Yoga. Who would any of you recommend in New York. Is their any more 'physical' style of Yoga.
