Guest guest
NOTICEBOARD of YOGA COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS and NEWSLETTER with the compliments of PURPLE VALLEY YOGA CENTRE, ANJUNA, GOA (www.yogagoa.com) where Ashtanga yoga enthusiasts and friends gather to practise, learn, teach, chat and relax. NEWSLETTER As we close the shala here in Goa at the end of our second season, we can reflect that things have not been too bad, considering the months of build-up to the War which prevented so many people travelling. We have had steady numbers – in fact, class sizes have been up considerably over the past few weeks, to our surprise. We hear that many people who were hoping to travel last year but didn’t because of Sept 11, and then postponed again this season because of the threat of War, are determined not to let anything stop them next year. So, we will be open again on Monday November 10th until the end of March 2004, and we look forward to seeing old faces and new friends to enjoy some first class ashtanga, meditation and pranayama in this lovely tropical location. The best time to come is early November until the middle of December, then from middle of January until the end of March – the Christmas and New Year high season gets very crowded due to school holidays. So, thanks to all who supported us this season. Please don’t forget to send us a digital picture of yourself (not necessarily in a yoga pose!) so we can add it to our Gallery Page on the web site for other alumni to remember you by. And look forward to seeing you again next season. Om shanti, shanti, shanti. Toronto, Canada - Mar. 26th, 2003 The current mood of the world is tense, uneasy, and fearful for the future. As war rages on, it is easy to worry that peoples of different countries, cultures, religions, and ethnic backgrounds will continue to misunderstand one another. Although the world has been made to feel smaller through rapidly expanding technologies, many people still feel isolated and disconnected from their global neighbors. One company, however, is uniting people from around the world: BrainMass.com. BrainMass is a vast resource of international intellectual talent available online, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. BrainMass has enlisted more than 1000 graduate students and professionals from over 150 universities around the world. BrainMass' intellectual talent pool members hail from than 30 different countries and many more nationalities, bringing the world together online for the common cause of academic progress and excellence. The breadth and depth of academic subject areas available is reflected by the diverse group of BrainMass' international academic resources. From Engineering to Classical Studies, from Physics to English, BrainMass team members work in every major field of study around the globe. Unlike any other online academic service, the staff at BrainMass.com includes M.A. and Ph.D. candidates in more than 40 fields, along with professors working at some of the world's finest academic institutions. BrainMass professionals hail from universities in countries such as Canada, Singapore, the United States, Italy, Australia, Turkey, Great Britain, India, and Romania. As Ross Carter, BrainMass' President rightly says, "It is incredibly invigorating to be part of an organization and objective that is at once so youthful, intelligent, energetic, and global." Moreover, the diversity of the international team of academics means that students can get help from a variety of national, cultural, religious, intellectual, and linguistic backgrounds. Grant Goodwin, founder and General Manager of BrainMass.com, has created an atmosphere, both at the BrainMass headquarters in Canada and internationally, of fellowship and camaraderie. "The positive attitude of each member of our team makes our lofty goals increasingly attainable." says Goodwin, "BrainMass has already reached one goal: bringing together international academic talent, and in so doing, we are showing the world how the pursuit of knowledge transcends all divides."
