Guest guest
I like the David Swenson ones. The Short Forms is particularly useful for low energy days. You can get them from his website at www.ashtanga.net. I'm not affiliated, just a happy customer. --Karen

Guest guest
Detail - in Ashtanga, you should always do your whole practice even on "low energy" days because this is part of how the practice instructs. There are certainly days when there is no time to do a 2 hour practice or during travel, but it is very very important to practice in a consistent manner even though you might feel "tired." It is also better to not practice to a DVD or tape, but to do what you remember since part of the practice is learning physical memory. Guest guest
hey fbl, thanks for the advice. i have lately been feeling tired and skipping practice, and just can't make myself go. so thanks for the motivation. it's good to know that the practice instructs this for it to be beneficial, i guess sometimes we just need a reminder. thanks >Detail - in Ashtanga, you should always do your whole practice >even on "low energy" days because this is part of how the >practice instructs. Guest guest
Sometimes your body will surprise you and you will be fine practicing it is just your mind telling you no no. Also you learn to breathe through the practice and be calm - learning how to utilize your energy most efficiently. You can do this best when you are tired. Guest guest
this is so true! some days i think i am completely exhausted but i step on my mat just to do " a few sun salutes" and the energy comes. Last week I was in a complete funk and after about 45 minutes, my breathing opened up and I had a wonderful practice. not the most agressive, muscular practice but a wonderful one. you have to realize the "you" that is tired still has the possibility to open to the flow of grace. what you really are beyond this lifetime is the conduit for that flow, not the body doing yoga --- funkybadlady <no_reply> wrote: > Sometimes your body will surprise you and you will > be fine > practicing it is just your mind telling you no no. > Also you learn to > breathe through the practice and be calm - learning > how to utilize > your energy most efficiently.
