Hi all,

I began practicing ashtanga in the beginning of this

year, and I am enjoying very much doing it, from all

perspectives. I am trying to improve, as it is

possible for me, the "jump-back" movement from Adho

Mukha to the standing position in the sun salutations,

and I wonder if you could give me any orientation or

tips on what has specifically worked best for you when

learing this step. Thanks in advance to all,

Eduardo

Eduardo - I think if you break down the "jump-back"

movement it becomes a lot more simple and less

"acrobatic or scary". From down dog 1) push your hips

back (inhale) 2)Exhale as you bend your knees and rock

back toward your heels and 3) hop forward with both

feet. It won't be perfect at first -your feet will

come way past your hands or way short of your hands,

but if you keep working, it will come to you. This is

what worked for me and my students.

Kind Regards & Namaste,

Maureen
