Guest guest Posted May 27, 2003 Report Share Posted May 27, 2003 I'm from providence, although not living there at the moment - the only ashtanga classes I ever found in RI were a led class at soma yoga -- http://www.somayoganewport.com/ and once a week ashtanga at the Providence Institute -- http://www.providenceinstitute.com/yoga.html. Soma is in Newport, which is a 35-45 minute drive from downtown. Neither of the studios are dedicated to ashtanga ,strictly speaking, so considering Boston is only an hour away he may be better off taking the commuter rail (I beleive it's the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority - MBTA - commuter rail) into downtown Boston and finding a studio there. Unless a new studio cropped up somewhere in the last 6 months I don't think there's a solid ashtanga studio in Providence.
