Ashtanga Yoga Workshop

With David Williams

July 11th, 12th and 13th

Here it is...the visit by David Williams to Paris, France. David Williams

has been practicing yoga since 1971 and Ashtanga vinyasa yoga since 1973,

when he became the first non-Indian to be taught the complete system of

asana and pranayama directly from Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. In 1972

David met K. P. Manju, the son of Pattabhi Jois, at an ashram in South India

and saw him demonstrate the First Series. In 1973 David began direct study

with Mr. Jois in Mysore. David introduced Pattabhi Jois to America and the

western world by organizing and sponsoring Mr. Jois's first visit to

Encinitas, California in 1975. He has taught the Ashtanga system to many of

today's leading teachers and practioners, including David Swenson, Danny

Paradise, Tracy Rich, Chuck Miller, Maty Ezraty, Jonny Kest, and Bryan Kest.

He has not missed a day of practice in 30 years. David is 52 years old and

is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; he lives

and teaches Ashtanga yoga on the island of Maui, Hawaii.

This workshop represents a rare opportunity to learn from one of the

acknowledged masters of the Ashtanga system.
