Hi,

I have taken some beginner ashtanga classes and also have been

practicing at home. Although I have scolios, (I havent had any

problems performing daily activites or playing sports/ However, I am

beginning to have more awareness of the unevenness in some of my

poses.

If anyone has any advise regarding practicing Ashtanga with scolios--

e.g. asanas to avoid or modify or even if Ashtanga is a suited

practice for this condition. Any imput will be apprecitated!

Thank you in advance!

I have a student with serious scolios (now finished teacher training

class), from the years experience of training her, I am happy to

suggest :

1. Keep optimistic, yoga will really help you.

2. You will get more un-comfortable feelings than anyothers, but it's

the process to get good health.

3. Keep patient, very conscious to each pose, always remind yourself

that breath is much more important than poses.

4. Even if you are hurt in any occasion, don't be sad, it will be

recovered through continuous practicing with easier poses & deep

breath. Climb up hill is hard & difficult, but up over the hill,

glorious comes.
