Guest guest
In Ashtanga Yoga, we take three days of rest - first three days of menstruation. The reasons for this have nothing to do with "blood flowing up the fallopian tubes" or any other such horsehooey, including "men imposing rules on women" - all fiction. It has to do with the internal heat generated in the practice. Also, I will remind you that this is a message board for Ashtanga Yoga. Someone asked about how menstruation is handled and I answered. Do whatever kind of yoga you want and do whatever you want during your period. This board is for Ashtanga and in Ashtanga Yoga we take three days off. No arguments. Have an opinion in response to that, but that is what is done and in my opinion, for good reason. I have been practicing this method for more than several years and I can tell you that it is very important if you practice Ashtanga. Guest guest
Can you explain why the first three days should be avoided because of internal heat generation? ashtanga yoga, funkybadlady <no_reply> wrote: > In Ashtanga Yoga, we take three days of rest - first three days of > menstruation.
