Guest guest
I am a DM-2 and I do not use insulin. However, I do have some problems when I do yoga, especially when I try to push the limits. Strenuous and very sweaty workouts quickly lead me to hypoglycemic states. I keep a supply of VEGETABLE juice, water, and my monitor at hand at all times. Since the symptoms can easily be confused, at first, with other happenings in the asanas I have to pay very careful attention to my body and I have developed a system where I periodically check my blood glucose level. I have been doing ashtanga a little more than 2 years and frequency of hypoglycemic episodes has dropped off dramatically, blood sugar levels have stabilized, and dosage for my medication has declined. Hope this helps. My question for the group: Has anyone of you as instructors ever had a student who was hearing impaired or deaf? How did you handle the situation when calling out the asanas? -- In ashtanga yoga, Nicolas Shanti <nicoyogi> wrote: > Namaste Yogis , > > I am diabetic type 1 on insulin (juvenile diabete) since 7 years and would like to know if any of You is also dealing with diabete and Yoga , and would have any advise , > Thanks > Om Shanti > Nicolas > > > Nicolas Moneton > Professeur de Yoga > 06 61 71 85 95 > nicoyogi > > > > SBC DSL - Now only $29.95 per month! > >
