Guest guest
All, Just follow the Ashtanga system as it is laid out correctly, and your hips and hamstrings will open. I can tell you unequivocally that there is no shortcut and that Ashtanga is simply the best system for a balanced, open and strong body and mind. You just have to be patient. Furthermore, "pidgeon" is not part of the primary series because there are plently of other hip openers that work better in conjunction with each other. If you want "extra" stretching time, sit in half padmasana three minutes each side every day or for hamstrings, lie in paschimottanasana for five minutes every day. All this, of course, on top of your regular, consistent daily Ashtanga practice with free breathing and correct dristhi. Also, this board is for people who practice Ashtanga yoga as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. Feel free to post here, but if your purpose is to promote or otherwise encourage other kinds of yoga practices, be aware that your messages would probably be more welcome on another message board.
