Actually when I was in Mysore Sharat told me that

doing pidgeon before practice was good for hip

openning along with half padmasana on both

sides...just FYI...

I agree with Michelle. When I was in Mysore, many

alternatives were given to me that weren't part of the

primary series. Maybe things are changing. While

Ashtanga is my personal practice, and I love it

dearly, and I personally don't want to practice any

other way, I don't believe in a one way or the highway

proposition to anything.

If you read the yoga scriptures, that is the is the

anthethisis of yoga anyway. The eight limbs of

Ashtanga cover this very well. Non-judgement is an

aspect of the Ashtanga so I would hope this message

comes across and that we can be respectful and a step

further, even appreciative, of any type of yoga.

It's a path we all share. Put aside the fanaticsm of a

specific way and embrace the outcome any kind of yoga

provides. That's my philosophy, whether anyone else

agrees with it or not.

Om Shanti,

Deb
