Hi everybody,

I'm new to this group and new to Ashtanga yoga too.

Some 18 years ago I practice yoga for a couple of years. Now I am

past 40 and my interest in yoga was brought up again after I read

David Swenson's book Ashtanga yoga.

Noticing that agility is not what it used to be, what would be your

advice: Practicing each asana individually until acquiring some

easiness or start right away with the full flow, using the

alternative postures that David gives in his book?

Thank you

Best regards

Antonio

When I started practicing Mysore style, by teacher had

me practice up to Navasana for a while then gradually

added each posture as I improved and memorized the

sequence. Good luck!

Thank you Chris and max for your answers.

I live in the south of Portugal and as far as I know there are no

teachers here.

I think books will be my guide for a while.
