Guest guest
GO NOW! dont let your ego stop you from going to see guru cuz you cant do the poses like the picutres in the book as jois says: do your practice and all is comming. I dont live in new york but if i did i would be all over the chance to see guru like white on rice. Jois loves beginners and there are 1/2 series classes that you could go to! GO NOW! omgyrl <omgyrl wrote: For the yogis here in NYC, has anyone ventured out to the Puck Building to see Pattabhi Jois? I am curious to know what the turn out has been because I would love to go but I feel intimidated that I can't do most of the series with the set poses. I take LED classes and have been practicing for a month so I am beginner beginner so can anyone tell me if its worth going or should just the advanced yogis go? It would be great to be there with all that energy and to see Guriji so any advice is greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Vanessa: If you are have the oppotunity to participate in a class with SKPJ you should do so, regardless of your facility with the ashtanga asanas. It will be a terrific motivating experience and no one attending will care about your ability; we are all just beginners. Guest guest
Actually, the 1/2 Primary classes have been canceled, I believe. But it doesn't matter. You can attend the full Primary class and leave once you reach a pose you can't do. Don't worry about feeling odd about this. You won't be the only person to leave early. Several other brand new beginners will stop before the end of the series, too. Most leave right after Navasana.
Guest guest
I've practiced with Guruji in Hollywood. Absolutely go! It doesn't matter where you are in your practice it's an amazing opportunity. There were people of all levels there. Go! --- omgyrl <omgyrl wrote: > For the yogis here in NYC, has anyone ventured out > to the Puck > Building to see Pattabhi Jois? Guest guest
I'd stay for sure, you pay for the whole thing, if you can't do the whole thing exactly properly it doesn't matter. It is not just a regular every day practice it is a workshop with the guru, something different than the usual thing. And who wouldn't want to be near the guruji, doesn't matter if you practice or not. jana On Wednesday, October 22, 2003, at 06:24 PM, Rock Chick wrote: > Do you have to actually leave the room? > > my mother has been practicing and i think this would > be an amazing thing for her to do with me, but i don't > want her to leave, i, myself would love to stay to > watch 2nd series, is that allowed? > > > > --- "Marcie A." <omgyrl wrote: >> Thanks everyone !!
