Ashtanga Yoga and strength question.

Question for y'all. I race bicycles as my main physical outlet. i am

currently lifting weights because my body has gotten hideously out of

balance (all strength in the legs, none in upper body or middle).

after i toughen up with the weights, i was considering taking up

ashtanga yoga because i have heard that it can make you stronger along

with its other benefits. is this true? i really would like to

maintain a fairly strong body.

Another thing to consider is that doing strengh exercises(weight

lifting) can actually shorten your muscles making it harder for you

to do yoga and restricting your range of movements. Yoga builds

strength without this side effect.
