Guest guest
with the holidays upon us i was wondering if anyone has done their practice - or a form of yoga in an airport. my body gets achey from waiting in lines/for a plane/etc. - and i've been told that some people have been known to bust out the mat and start practicing. has anyone here had any experience in practicing in a public place such as an airport? Guest guest
I've done full-out practice in major airports...I've never traveled during the holidays, but during regular times I would pull out the mat and do it sometimes in public view. Some suitable spots: behind inactive check-in counters, closed dining areas, baggage claim areas. It is a great way to pass a couple of hours. If I have less time I would do the standing poses, without a mat and with my shoes on. I have also sat in meditation pose behind inactive check-in counters. Guest guest
Great question. I travel a lot for work and am often stuck in airports. I have done yoga with and without a mat. Many airports have chapels, which tend to be quite under-utilized and are quite chill low-key spaces. Good luck with your travels. dara
