Meaning when you are fairly proficient at a pose you go on to the next. This may happen in one practice or after weeks of practice. I would learn the sun salutes and practice those till they are memorized and you are proficient. Than I would add one pose, memorize it and get comfortable with it, than add another one. You should do a modified closing(maybe last three postures of the entire primary sequence). Beryl Binder Birch's book, Power Yoga is really good for getting started.
