Guest guest
Hi Carrie The best way BY FAR is to use a sticky mat with a hand-made cotton woven rug on top. The rug will stay put on top of the mat and you will stick to the rug like glue. After you get a little hot and slightly sticky you will stick to the rug even more!!! Also, provides extra comfort in headstand, and having a more natural fabric under your hands and feet is wonderful compared to characterless rubber. I used to slip around like mad before I got a rug and it really interfered with my practice. Getting the rug has allowed me to focus more on my breath rather than on my hands slip beneath me in downdog! Don¹t know where you are, but I¹m in the UK and managed to get hold of one of John Scott¹s own special mats: http://www.shivas-mat.com/index.html You should be able to mail-order a rug from most online yoga-shops. d On 10/1/04 6:04 pm, "HarleysNguitars1" <HarleysNguitars1 wrote: > I have a regular Tapas sticky mat and even when I use chalk I slide around on > it. Guest guest
I like the Manduka Purple Travel mat. It provides more cushioning and traction. You can get it mail order from their website: www.manduka.com Of course, if you generate a lot of sweat during your practice, your other option is using a practice rug on top of your existing Tapas mat. hope that helps, Bob --- HarleysNguitars1 wrote: > I have a regular Tapas sticky mat and even when I > use chalk I slide around on > it.
