Guest guest
Hi Mark, Welcome to the world of yoga. When I first started, I simply attended the classes - and let my body go as far as it is ready. I use my breathe to gauge where I am at with myself on any given day. With regard to daily practice - I think you will ultimately need to decide how structured you want to be. I practice daily meditateion where I sit and practice my pranayamas (breathing). You may want to pick up a ypoga book at the local bookstore and investigate your journey from there. Yoga, as with life, is all about the journey - so take your time, breathe it in, sink into it (pain or joy) and don't be in rush to get there... Believe it or not, yoga is about letting go - and a practice of mind over matter. Yoga would only enhance the other activities that you do, not take away from them. I'm wondering two things, how does one build up a daily practice? The full series is too much and so I do as much as I can each day. Does anyone have a recommendation here? Also, I've been an runner, swimmer and biker for many years, is this type of activity counter productive in any way from an ashtanga point of view?
