Guest guest
Thanks for the advice Carrie. My biggest trouble spot is just as my feet are leaving the floor. They always seem to get "stuck" on the floor just as I am trying to pick them up. I will keep at it though. Of that you can be certain. Thanks again. I used to have the same problem, and I just assumed that it was because my legs are so long.... but with the advice from a great instructor, I have mastered the jump through now. since the legs are longer than the arms they have to be as parallel to the floor as possible during the jump through. keep your hips as low as you can as you jump forward... its basically that the body stays in a full forward bend as it comes through the arms. and as always remember to exhale deeply... the exhalation will let u move deeper into the forward bending position. now as for jump backs, I havent quite got that yet lol. Guest guest
Layne, just curious... how long have you been practicing yoga, and where are ya from? I'm certain you will get it one day... but in the meantime, keep in mind that where ever you are in the practice, it's your practice and yoga isnt competitive. :-) Namaste, Carrie
Guest guest
hi Layne, what about shortening your abdominals just before you lift, and engaging uddiyana bandha as you jump through? Good luck! Wen Layne Hedrick <layne wrote: Thanks for the advice Carrie. My biggest trouble spot is just as my feet are leaving the floor.
