Breathing

Hello all,

Since I was given a great deal of good advice in regards to jump throughs I

wanted

to ask another question.

When I am in downward facing dog, I get stuffed up very quickly and find it hard

to breath the way I should. Got any advice?

Thanks in advance

Hi Layne

This could have to do more with your diet and eating habits. They say you should

not

eat anything up to 4 hours prior to practice. And when beginning practice, if

you drink

water it should be a very moderate amount, like a gulp of water if you're

thirsty.

Maybe you could do some reading on diet recommended for yogis. The books by

Dr. Gabriel Coussens MD, such as "Concious Eating", offer good advice. You can

visit his web site, www.treeoflife.nu. A vegetarian diet helps. Limiting the

consumption

in your diet of foods that cause mucous helps also, such as breads, pasta and

dairy.

Hope that helps.

Arturo
