I wonder where you live? I practice at downward dog yoga studio in Toronto and

the studio focus' only on Astanga yoga.

I have been practicing for a few years now. With more information from you I

can possibly help. Self practice how many people practice and it is fine to

pursue this. Having a wonderful teacher though is very rewarding also for your

practice. Let me know more about where you are and if you have practiced yoga

at all before.

Do not get discouraged for too long..............you are asking yourself the

right questions........all will enfold and your practice will begin.

getting overwhelmed..i really want to practice but i'm not sure if self-studying

is the best method...i live in a small town in ontario..and yoga teachers are

few and far between..i want to make sure that i get the most out of ashtanga..

that i'm doing it correctly with the best possible results..and without hurting

hey there

the thing is Mr Jois in Mysore says one percent theory

and 99% practice, you can find very good books on the

net like David swenson and his videos and use them in

conjunction with the other teachers, maybe find

retreat and courses to get into conact with teachers

you could learn off of, where there's a will there's a

way!

hope that helps!
