Guest guest
The best teacher training I received was by watching and working with my teacher. I asked her if I could assist her in her classes - mysore and led primary. As her assistant, I help students with adjustments, assist with vinyasa and asana, and reminders on bandhas. I've learned a LOT observing her and listening to her keep the pace for the class. I'm registered with Yoga Alliance as a teacher, and I've taken David Swenson's Teacher Training, as well as doing many other adjustment and teaching clinics, and really, there is no better teacher than experience. Keep practicing, and only teach what you know and you'll do just fine Read Yoga Mala if you haven't already. For additional reading, check out David Swenson's Practice Manual. He gives tips on drishti, vinyasa and alignment, and also gives modifications for each of the poses. In my experience, the teachers I am most drawn to, are the ones that can show compassion - for themselves and for their students. Good luck! lola www.bodhihana.com Message: 2 Sat, 28 Feb 2004 17:35:19 -0000 "harleysnguitars1" <HarleysNguitars1 teacher training materials? The other day my yoga teacher mentioned to me that she wants to add a few more classes to the schedule. She said she will be needing another teacher for a couple classes, and asked if I would be interested. If this goes though, she would like me to start in a month or two, but I cant take the teacher training course until next winter... Does anyone know of any teacher training materials I can order off the internet or any other good resources that will help prepare me for teaching? Namaste. ______________________ ______________________ ------ ------
