Breathing Question

I recently started studying Ashtanga. I've done yoga before & I was

looking around for new ways to get in shape after having my baby.

(due July 1st) I found Ashtanga & I really like the sound of it.

There are no teachers in my area so I downloaded an Ebook to read up

on the basics. The breathing has me confused. I understand the part

about constricting the back of your throat. But after that

instruction the book said: "Practice as above, but fold the tongue

back so that the tip of the tongue presses the back of the soft

palette at the roof of the mouth." What does this mean? Do I actually

fold my tongue over itself so that the tip of it is pressing against

the back of the roof of my mouth by my throat?

Thanks.

Putting the tip of your tongue all the way back to the back of the

soft palate is not correct, as far as I've ever heard. Perhaps they

meant to gently touch the back of the hard palate, which I have heard

said somwhere.
