Guest guest
Annie: Check out the Ashtanga Yoga discussion board on http://www.ezboard.com. Once you get to the Ashtanga message board, click the Mysore thread. There's LOADS of info there from people who have traveled to Mysore. That thread also has limited info on other Ashtanga teachers in Mysore (i.e., BNS Iyengar and Sheshadri). Good luck and enjoy your trip! Is there anyone out there who's done it and has some words of wisdom? I've been doing a lot of research on the many teachers in Mysore and beyond, but I think I'm going to study with the Guruji, since I'm going that far. I wonder where people have lived during their time in Mysore. Any words of wisdom? Any reasons to choose another teacher? I look forward to any information! Guest guest
Hi Annie, I was at Guruji's in Mysore for 5 months at the beginning of the year, and I loved it so much that I am going back after the election in November. (If Bush wins, I may never come back the U.S.!). Guruji is not as hands-on as he once was, but Sharath is an wonderful successor. I have had good friends who studied with the other teachers in Mysore, but their reports make it clear to me that AYRI (Guruji's shala) is the best. More details in my meandering blog. russell.blogs.com Namaste, Russell anaisnin1_2 wrote: > Hey everyone- > I'm new to the group, but I've been through the archives, and I can't > find much information from anyone who's been to Mysore to study with > Sri Pattabhi Jois.
