Well, I have periodic urges for chocolate. I pop in a

few everyday but then I slowly bring it down to

moderation. And as far as I know, you should never

control your food urges - Satisfy them only in

moderation.

Hi Rahel,

Maybe you don't get enough proteins from the food you're eating, and the lack of

proteins is the reason for your cravings. Try to add more of them in your diet,

and you won't need to eat fattening things anymore. Eat more fish, but specially

try to eat lots of soya-products. Those are full of proteins, good and healthy

ones, and suitable for your vegetarian diet, too. You could even try

soya-proteins powders. Also nuts and almonds are rich in proteins.

Ashtanga is a very strong practise, and your muscles need lots of proteins, so

take good care of getting enough of them. Otherwise you start feeling weak, or

even get sick. Specially if your acupuncturist has adviced you to eat meat

because of your bodytype, it seems to me that you maybe need more proteins than

average.

Hello!

I took up my ashtanga practice again in may 2004 ( after a 8 months

break ) and usually I been losing weight when I practice a lot, which

is okey for me because I am not thin. I do my practice 5-6 days a

week, almost the whole primary series. But now, since summer I

noticed that I feel an urge to eat fattening food, as milk, cheese

and loads of chocolate and now I been gaining weight instead of

losing it, okey, you can tell me to just stop with the chocolate but

I really feel that my body 'need' or demand it. It is really strange

beacause I used to be very healthy, already as a teenager. I eat a

90% vegeterian diet, sometimes fish, no meet or chicken for years. My

acupuncturist keeps telling me to start with some chicken or meat,

that my bodytype 'need' it and when it doesn't get it, it start to

crave for the fatty things as cheese and chocolate. Make any sense?

Have anyone had any similar 'symptoms' or does anyone have any really

good suggestions what to do, because I used to have a flat belly, but

not anymore..:(

I also take vitamin B and some Omega oil,so I do not think it is

because of a lack of vitamins.

Thank you!
