Guest guest
Hi Rahel My teacher says that ashtangis eat a lot of chocolate. What I have learned to make my chocolate craving healthy if to buy chocolate that is not sweetened with sugar, but with malitol or other substitutes. You can buy some online through chocolate websites, or you can check whole foods, if it's in your area. Sharfeen Berger makes good dark chocolate. Just avoid milk chocolate and find some without sugar. You can also make chocolate puddings that have virtually no calories. I'm also vegetarian, and practice more a vegan way, so I avoid dairy products. If you're craving fatty foods why not substitute healthy ones such as nuts? Thanks Arturo Sat, 13 Nov 2004 04:50:52 -0000 "rhlgolightly" <rhlgolightly Strange food cravings? Hello! I took up my ashtanga practice again in may 2004 ( after a 8 months break ) and usually I been losing weight when I practice a lot, which is okey for me because I am not thin. I do my practice 5-6 days a week, almost the whole primary series. But now, since summer I noticed that I feel an urge to eat fattening food, as milk, cheese and loads of chocolate and now I been gaining weight instead of losing it, okey, you can tell me to just stop with the chocolate but I really feel that my body 'need' or demand it. It is really strange beacause I used to be very healthy, already as a teenager. I eat a 90% vegeterian diet, sometimes fish, no meet or chicken for years. My acupuncturist keeps telling me to start with some chicken or meat, that my bodytype 'need' it and when it doesn't get it, it start to crave for the fatty things as cheese and chocolate. Make any sense? Have anyone had any similar 'symptoms' or does anyone have any really good suggestions what to do, because I used to have a flat belly, but not anymore.. I also take vitamin B and some Omega oil,so I do not think it is because of a lack of vitamins. Thank you! Rahel
