Guest guest
I have experienced a class with one, maybe two teachers at a time. With that said I think one instructor is best. First of all, it's closer to the one-on-one attention that was received back in the day, before Ashtanga became the phenomenon it is today. Second, if you are dealing with the same teacher regualrly (i.e. getting adjustments, one instructor watching your progress over time, etc.) , then that teacher is best suited to determine when and if you should progress to more poses, the next series, etc. On the other hand, I could see the benefit of several teachers where it is easier to get regular adjustments (as long as all of the teachers know what they are doing), and you are less likely to compete with other students for the attention of just one teacher. With that said, I still think that if you have one teacher you are dealing with regularly, it is easier for the teacher to make judgment calls for a given student because he or she knows the student well, and would not have to have a group meeting about student x's progress. Hope that helps, JW >"bheit2003" <bheit >ashtanga yoga >ashtanga yoga >ashtanga yoga Multiple vs Single Astanga Teacher(s) >Wed, 01 Dec 2004 20:15:04 -0000 > > > >Hi All, > >Want to get some feedback from the group. > >At First - About 3 years ago went to a lead class by SKPJ, it was so >amazing and changed my life forever. > >From Books and CD's - There were no local classes so I practiced on >my own for 2.5 years. Guest guest
Gayathri, I've decided to change Yoga Studios and Teachers. Teacher that I was working with is "Burnt Out". New Teacher(s) are high energy, positive, very detail oriented, & now I feel focused. This just feels right. Namaste, Bob ashtanga yoga, wrote: > > Find one teacher and stick with him.
