Tsunami effect in Goa

Many thanks to everyone who has emailed enquiring whether we are safe

in Goa, and the answer, thankfully, is Yes.

All we experienced was one large wave, no more than 5' high, after a

long 'drawing back' of the sea. As the tide was out at time, the

large wave actually went hardly higher than the high tide mark. Some

fishermen's boats were shifted / pushed over, and few beach shacks,

which are made of flimsy bamboo and palm leaves, were demolished, but

no loss of life.

Purple Valley Drop-In is a couple of Kilometres from the sea, and the

Retreat is higher inland by another couple of Kilometres, so we were

in no danger.

However our thoughts go out to those in other regions, who were less

fortnuate, and the families of those lost and missing.
