Guest guest
I've been told to do the same as Charlie does during shavasana, to simply let go and not think about anything. But I tend to use that time to pray (as opposed to meditate, which I do at a time separate from daily yoga practice). Perhaps I am afraid to fall asleep. My prayer is usually the same set of words, so it's meditative. What are other's experiences with shavasana? Namaste Arturo
Guest guest
It is best not to lie down after you eat as stomach acids digesting your food can leak up into the esophagus. If you are ill and must lie down, try to prop yourself up so that gravity will keep the acids down. If you must lie flat, lie on your left side as this will also help keep the acids from leaking into the esophagus. Also, eat small amounts at a time so the stomach is not over full. Guest guest
Also avoid high fat foods as these take longer to leave the stomach causing stomach acid levels to remain elevated for longer periods of time. As well avoid caffeine from all sources (including chocolate). Barbara
