Guest guest
There's a bit of a possible controversy being commented on in the EZBoard site. Here's the URL to the thread: http://p196.ezboard.com/fyoga84291frm4.showMessage?topicID=692.topic The gist of the comments is that a yoga teacher, Ken Harakuma, is alleged to have sent out e-mails informing other teachers in Japan that, under the direction of Guruji and Sharath, only Mr. Hamakura and those that he approves can teach Ashtanga in Japan. He reportedly even sent e-mails to visiting teachers, including some of Guruji's most senior certified teachers, like Nancy Gilgoff, John Scott, etc. telling them that they could not come and teach in Japan without his clearance. For those in Japan who did want to teach Ashtanga, they would have to pay Mr. Harakuma 35% of their fees as compensation for his time in making sure their teaching was appropriate. I have no idea if any of this is true but it is bothersome to hear, either way. Does anyone here have any direct knowledge about this?
