Guest guest
I don't think that Amanda's comment is entirely correct. It would perhaps be best to use primary sources to see what his practice is really like. The obvious focus is on asana, but I believe that he is teaching complete yoga. Krishnamacharya found an ancient text named "Yoga Korunta" and asked Pathabbi Jois to work on it. This text is the base of ashtanga yoga. So Jois didn´t invented Ashtanga yoga. >He teaches only asanas because the westerners who are the paying customers for ashtanga aren't interested in the other 7 limbs -- myself included. If people would pay for it, he'd teach the other 7 limbs, too. Sad to know Jois compromise his practice to what makes money. I know many yoga teachers who prefer to have a main income for living from other source than yoga, but they are commited to transmit the 8 limbs of yoga in the way they were taught.
