Guest guest
I know how you feel!!! It did about the same thing to me for my tai chi teacher... I gave up tai chi... But I want to go back to its practice... after all the only teacher is yourself... it's a normal thing that guides come and go... We'll have to deal with it! Guest guest
cheer up, practicing is for your own enlightenment, even your teacher is away from you, if he is really your inspirating one, you can feel it at any time. Namaste. wrote: Took me this long to realize that I take people for granted in my life. I expect them to be there for me when I need them. Yesterday, I heard that my teacher is leaving town for good. That makes me very sad. Although I never said much to him, I felt connected and he was my inspiration not only in my practice but off my mat too. Seems like there is no meaning to my practice anymore without my teacher. Guest guest
Losing a teacher is very difficult. I moved and had to leave a yoga studio where i did my teacher training and had an amazing teacher as well. I think of her everyday and that is what inspires me to continue my practice and learn & grow from that place. I hear her voice in my head especially days when it is hard to get on the mat. As sad as i have been to leave i also feel blessed to have had her as my teacher. MY thoughts are with you debbie
Guest guest
That is a shame, and very hard. My first ashtanga teacher left Philadelphia in September. I only was able to practice with him for a year. I tried to turn the circumstances into a good situation - I took advantage of the change to really examine my relationship to my yoga practice. In some ways, my teacher's moving away actually was a push for me to realize that saying, "you are your own best teacher". I have moved on to a few different teachers, and in the switch I was given countless new ways to consider my practice. It is nice to have the opportunity to practice with my old teacher on occasion, and I still remember him as my first inspiration to yoga in a lot of ways, but I have a new relationship with my practice that I probably wouldn't have had otherwise.
