Guest guest
>Is there anyone out there who loves both running and yoga? can these work together? Yes, I run & do ashtanga yoga. If running compromised my flexibility with yoga somewhat, so be it. It is worth it to me. The point with ashtanga is not how far you get into each pose; it is the discipline, the breathing, the detoxifying effect, etc. I don't find it to be enough of a work-out to keep me thin & fit & so I need to run as well. I also enjoy running & would not consider giving up either running or yoga. I am sure the yoga helps the running, that it counteracts any loss of flexibility from running, and cycling, too. I find the two sports complement each other very well & I highly recommend doing both. Guest guest
Hi Gayathri You should be developing your own home practice after doing this for a while. Choose who is your main teacher But when you have your own practice, it doesn't matter if you see one teacher for one class and another for another class. You learn from all. Good teachers respect if you are following the instructions of another teacher and won't contradict their instructions. For example, if one teacher has you learning drop backs on the wall, the other should not contradict and say you should do it with assistance of the teacher. A good teacher respects the method pres- cribed by your main teacher. Jealousy should not be in the vocabulary of a yogi. One teacher feeling inferior/jealous over another teacher if you attend more classes of one versus another. How did you handle such a delicate situation? Any help would be much appreciated. If your response is "don't care about it" or "ignore it", please do not respond to my question. Gracias. Gayathri.
