Sorry to raise this old chestnut. However...... ...there are so many different mats coming out each week and I am in need of a new one I thought I would get the concensus about which one is best? If its any help I had a Asana Black Mat, really pleased with that but it hasn't lasted very long (nice and 'sticky' though). I invested in a Crescent Moon mat but find that it has never lost its slippiness for some reason and I feel uncomfortable on it. Soooooo, any advice welcomed! Tony... Guest guest
hi tony - i really like the prana mats. i had been replacing my mat every three months or so. then i tried a prana mat about a year ago and it still is in great shape. the one drawback is that it's quite thin. i like this, but if you really like a cushy mat, it might not be great for you. - ro
Guest guest
I use a regular sticky mat (from gaiam) which is okay, but OVER it I use a carpet which I bought from YogaVermount. I really like the carpet, it is much better than a sticky mat. But by having the sticky mat under the carpet you get extra cushioning and shock absorption. Be careful though, the carpet fades alot when I wash it. Curt wrote:Hey, I have seen this post on another forum where all the yoga nerds are lurking. I recommend Manduka. Its ok after break in.
