Guest guest
Hi everyone. My partner was diagnosed with a prolapsed disk a couple of weeks ago. This was the result of an MRI scan revealing a bulbous disk pressing on the spinal cord and causing excruciating pain that manifests as both lower back pain and acute sciatica. She has been prescribed painkillers - that actaully just knock her out - and some basic exercises (all very yoga like) - though very, very lame. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has either gone through similar problems or can advise which postures are best to help aleviate the pain? She has been told that surgery is an option but a last resort and even then months away. She is understandably afraid of aggrevating the problem but at the same time has a lot of faith in Yoga though is not a practitioner herself. Thanks in advance! Tony...
