Hi Cheryl

The first limb of 'Yoga' is acceptance, that is acceptance of 'self'

and all you perceive your 'self' to be with all the perceived 'rights

& 'wrongs' of actions of self. Firstly acceptance means no judgement,

so stop judging 'self'. If something feels wrong then it can't be

right for 'Self', don't judge 'Self' because 'Self' didn't lead you

on the wrong path the 'Monkey mind' did. True 'Self' knows better,

True 'Self' is that better part of us that is linked to the universal

pool of wisdom. The discomfort you feel about the direction of your

life so far is coming from 'Self'. Stop owning past actions to

continually punish & judge self (not to be confused with denial of

responsibility) or you will continue to be caught up in a repetitive

cycle of 'wrong' actions.

Accept and connect fully to the beauty, wisdom & compassion of

True 'Self' and gradually the egotistic 'Monkey mind' will lose it's

power over your re- Actions and the course of your spirittual journey

in this life.

Without acceptance of 'Self', we cannot accept others. Acceptance is

the root of compassion. Cultivate compassion for 'Self' first, you

cannot make progress to the next limb on the 'Yoga' 'spiritual'

journey until you have fully cultivated each step in it's proper

sequence. Stop beating yourself up first, we all make mistakes, and

very often we end up on the wrong path in life so that we can learn a

very important lesson (sometimes brutal) about our 'true and better

purpose". Take heart that you are taking the first steps towards

identifying the true nature of self and of reality which is

the 'emptiness' and illusion of the material world. The 'Monkey mind'

is very absorbed by the material world and seeks to keep our entire

being (mind, body & soul) locked in the pre-occupations of the

material world. Whilst engaged with the illusion & painful delusion

of the material world, we are trapped and helpless on the "wheel"

that we tread like hamsters as we spin from one misery to the next

treading ever faster in a vain effort to escape 'misery'. In our

efforts to escape misery we miss the signposts of our 'spiritual

journey' here. Stop now, give thanks and praises that your awakening

has occurred. You are now on the 'Path'.

The spiritual journey is exactly that; 'A journey'. If you are

anxious to reach your destination, then you miss out on the important

lessons and signposts along the 'Path' that are also the scenery of

your growing 'awareness'. Slow down, strive to be aware and concious

within every moment no matter how insignificant or uncomfortable

that 'moment' might appear to the 'Monkey mind'. The accumulation of

Wealth is not and should not be a feature of the destination

of 'Inner peace & enlightment', it is merely a tool provided for us

on the physical plane of our journey.

Faith is required for you to find a path to 'right living'. Strive to

acquire faith that the Universe will provide all that you need for

your survival on your quest to your 'better self'. These needs

incorporate many aspects: including means (money, job, business etc)

to physical survival and lessons and challenges that are appropriate

to your soul's spiritual growth on this plane. You are finding

yourself right within the first and fundamental lesson now, which is

also the the first of the eight limbs (or rungs on the ladder)

of 'Yoga' Acceptance viz Compassion for 'Self' and others. Once you

truly see the majesty of True 'Self' you will see that majesty in all

beings, you will feel true compassion for them in their human

experience and your life and relationships will blossom like the

Lotus flower

Go to www.yoga-palace.co.uk where you will find information that you

may find helpful in reducing your anxiety about the 'Yoga process'

and the 'Spiritual Journey'.

Good luck in all your ventures.

Antoinette
