Guest guest
Hi Carolyn. Yes, Rochelle is right. Do a search on Yogajournal.com and I'm sure you will find some more helpful information. Also, in the December issue, there is a section that explains the complexities of this pose. Down Dog may be a little hard to do at first, but find yourself in it and it might just become your favorite pose. Don't be discouraged if your heals do not touch the floor. Find peace in the pose. The final pose should resemble the capital letter "A". Yes, this pose was named "downward dog" after the strech dogs do after a nap or when they greet you. Many names of poses are from nature/animals: tree, cow face, cat, etc. If you don't do any other yoga poses, do this one! Enjoy and good luck on your writing.
