Guest guest
write a letter if you like but you still have to go through the registration process when you arrive. the shala will be closed from march until the end of may--at least. enjoy your time. namaste, dorion >"mail_to_susen" <mail_to_susen >ashtanga yoga >ashtanga yoga >ashtanga yoga going to mysore jan till end of march >Sat, 05 Nov 2005 03:32:49 -0000 > >is the shala open at this time. not to sure if it is closed in march.. >do I have to write a letter to the shala for registration or is it ok >to just go in person when I´m there? > > > > >
Guest guest
Does anyone know if I need to register in advance for Sharat's shala? I was told that he accepts students who can go less than 1 month? Thank you. Mary
Guest guest
when i was practicing with sharath this past january and february the only people he accepted for shorter then one month were people who had already practiced for a month with him , or at the main shala. there is no pre registration before you arrive at the shala. head to the main shala. ask the man outside--you will know who i mean--when you arrive that you wish to practice with sharath. he will bring sharath out to meet with you. save yourself the uncomfortable exchange ot telling the founder of ashtanga yoga that you prefer to practice with his grandson. a friend of mine wished someone had told her that before her first and only meeting with pattabhi ended in him being quite grumpy with her! have a wonderful time. dorion >Mary Dennis <maryrdennis >ashtanga yoga >ashtanga yoga >RE: ashtanga yoga going to mysore jan till end of march >Thu, 10 Nov 2005 13:20:43 -0800 (PST) > >Does anyone know if I need to register in advance for Sharat's shala? Guest guest
how come it's so harsh and no indication or information what's their regulation! dorion davis <doriondavis wrote: when i was practicing with sharath this past january and february the only people he accepted for shorter then one month were people who had already practiced for a month with him , or at the main shala. there is no pre registration before you arrive at the shala. head to the main shala. ask the man outside--you will know who i mean--when you arrive that you wish to practice with sharath. he will bring sharath out to meet with you. save yourself the uncomfortable exchange ot telling the founder of ashtanga yoga that you prefer to practice with his grandson. a friend of mine wished someone had told her that before her first and only meeting with pattabhi ended in him being quite grumpy with her! have a wonderful time. dorion >Mary Dennis <maryrdennis >ashtanga yoga >ashtanga yoga >RE: ashtanga yoga going to mysore jan till end of march >Thu, 10 Nov 2005 13:20:43 -0800 (PST) > >Does anyone know if I need to register in advance for Sharat's shala? Guest guest
I think it does say in the website that the class is for a minimum 1 month. Sharath does travel and hold workshops for a shorter period of time, why not consider that first if you can't stay for an entire month in Mysore? I had done that when Sharath traveled to Hong Kong. and I believe he's going to be holding another workshop in Goa in December from 10-23. Why not go to that one instead? Guest guest
It is not their intention to be harsh, nor is it their desire to advertise their services. it is merely a different system to that which you may be accustomed to.. hundreds and hundred of yoga students flock to mysore throughout the year.. this is not a resort, it is a neighborhood, it is a family, it is a very special opportunity..the reality is like dorion suggested.. is is that you want to study with Shrath, K. Pattabhi, or anyone else for that matter you need to have faith and just get there, humbly make your way to their respected shalas and ask to be taught.. you mustnt worry. "all is coming". If that is too loose, then maybe its best to practice elsewhere for now, there are a number of top ashtanga teachers all over the globe where there is an advanced booking system in place..hope this info helps.om
